This bakery uses plastic bread baskets which slide out of the vehicle load section onto an internal tail lift platform; a metal frame was fabricated with integral slide rails to just clear the TredAlert strip to allow the skeletal plastic baskets to easily slide across. The installed TredAlert system provides the operator with an effective sensory warning that does not interfere with established working methods. The photograph opposite clearly demonstrates the TredAlert system installed to meet the requirements of Allied Bakeries. We have tried a number of safety solutions such as an alarm system which detected movement at the edge of a tail lift, but this rugged tactile matting is clearly the most robust and practical solution to the industries requirement."
